In 2011 as well, FOOD & LIFE was a resounding success with a record attendance of 163 exhibitors, confirming yet again its status as a place where gourmets meet. On the visitor side, 90.000 visitors enjoyed the trade fair tasting and buying regional specialities.

In the center of attention at the trade fair was the artisanal production of the products, their regional origins and gentle processing. Like a red thread that went through the criteria FOOD & LIFE – even on the action stage: For the five days of the trade fair the program was one of the main attractions. Top chefs showed how culinary treasuers can be made out of regional cuisine. Exhibitors showed what makes good food and gave tips to the visitors on how to prepare them at home.

Another highlight was again the range of products of the ideal partners of FOOD & LIFE. Under the motto "Good - clean - fair" Slow Food Munich organised the "Market for Good Food". This year 40 producers from the Slow Food movement presented their products – including 17 companies that took part for the first time. Very popular among visitiors was the Bavarian Brewers Federation, which presented ecological beers of eleven special breweries from all over Bavaria.
